Babies and birthdays

It's not that I don't like writing. Time flies when you're having fun (and working retail!)

Important family news: CASEY AND JEFF ARE HAVING A BABY! It's been about a month since they found out and they are thrilled! Congrats, guys!
Dear baby S.: You are grandchild #8 and we can't wait to meet you! I may have started eyeing cute fashionable clothes for you...

Also, I turned 22! It feels good, actually just as good as being 21. No mid-life crisis for me yet!

Here are some pictures from dinner that night:

{my tasty birthday cake thanks to my husband}

I promise, if only to myself, to write more often.

I'd rather be wearing

As everyone knows, Florida is a warm paradise. Yes, ALWAYS HOT. It's November and 86 degrees! I love florida, don't get me wrong, but I'd really enjoy wearing something else besides summer shorts and thin tank tops most of the year. I can't truly say how excited I am for fall weather to arrive (and hopefully stay for a while.)

So, here is what I'd rather be wearing today...

Now that looks more like fall to me.

Everybody is free (to wear sunscreen)

I stumbled upon this video and little did I know it was quite famous. The essay titled Everybody is free (to wear sunscreen) was originally written by Mary Schmich as a mock graduation speech for The Chicago Tribune in 1997. However, it rapidly gained popularity and even became a hit pop song. The message is nothing new, but it is sure to make you think.

Here are a few of my favorite phrases:

-"Do one thing every day that scares you."

-"Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard. Live in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft."
-"Keep your old love letters. Throw away your old bank statements."

Please watch and be inspired :)

Life as of today

To say a lot has happened in my life since the last time I posted something is quite an understatement.

After 7 long years, I made the 20-hour trip back to my homeland, Chile.
An incredible amount of hugging, kissing, rejoicing, happy crying and undoubtedly, catching up was involved.

Taken by my mom at the Concepcion Airport.

Also, I got my first "real" job! It's nothing fancy (retail) but honestly, I'm just so happy to be employed at all.

And last but not least... I AM GOING BACK TO COLLEGE! Can't wait till winter semester rolls around and Justin and I are college students once again, but this time together. Maybe he'll be my study buddy? Who knows... ;)

I'm a happy girl :)

LIFE IS ART- THE HUMAN CANVAS I

I found this a few days ago. I hope you enjoy it, too.
Happy Wednesday!
