Pre-thanksgiving post

Things I am immensely thankful for:

1. Being alive and 23 years young.
2. Spending my life with Justincito.
3. Family and friends. Forever.
4. The fact that in January I'll start the Nursing program.
5. My job. I love it and the people and pets I see everyday.
6. The beautiful country I live in.
7. The beautiful country I was born in.
8. The cooler weather.

My heart is so full right now.

Came across this creative diagram.
I love it.

Now I'm off to read Julie and Julia in bed.

Sunday Funday

Last weekend was fun.

Sunday after work, Justin and I headed to Borders to take advantage of their going-out-of-business sale. Not only did I score a very informative Cliff's Notes book on Anatomy and Physiology (to go with my newly acquired HESI study guide) for $5, but took home my very own copy of Julie and Julia. I loved that movie and the book was 40% off!

Soon after we jumped in the car and drove over to Ft. Lauderdale to see the Super Moon. What a spectacle! No, not the moon --it was cloudy and we could only see it after it was high in the sky. The beach was so, so packed! There must have been at least a few thousand people, all screaming in unison; there was music blaring from every bar (in)conveniently located on the little sidewalk separating us from the crazy drivers.

Anyway, there was a huge sign commemorating the 100th anniversary of the city of Ft. Lauderdale. We asked a lady to take a picture for us; too bad she only got us and the 2 zeroes. There are so many new restaurants, too! The whole A1A area looks very different and new.
I guess that's what happens when you go to the beach MAYBE three times a year.

Our little outing ended up with a 3-mile walk to a McDonald's which (3 miles after, we realized) ceased to exist years ago, a quick jog back to the car in uncomfortable sandals, and a not-so-super moon.

Spring

I just realized that today is the first day of spring.
And the air is still cool.

I'm sure it will still be that way tomorrow morning for my EARLY chemistry lab.

The future looks promising.

Thankful

I feel very content.
Here is a list of things I am thankful for tonight:

1) Not having to work or go to school in the morning in what seems like forever.
2) Sleeping in!
3) The torrential rain I hear right outside my window.
4) The simple yet delicious "grilled cheese sandwich" I just ate. YUM.
5) My new stash of muenster cheese in the fridge.
6) Not having a sore throat anymore!
7) Drinking tea with a sweet friend at a local coffee shop while looking at exotic destinations and restaurants on the computer (really long sentence or run-on?.)
8) Education.
9) Family and friends!
10) The hug Justin gave me in the kitchen.

Reason #67 to escape from Florida

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/01/11/snow-in-49-states-map_n_807741.html

Here's the article:

"A map of snowfall in the United States is revealing right now: 49 states have snow on the ground and only one does not.

From the southern snow storm heading north, which is affecting air travel, to the storm in New York City, and flurries out west, there's plenty of white stuff going around.

The lone state without a flake? It's the Sunshine State...Florida. Locals are celebrating the fact, though interestingly, parts of the state saw snow just days ago.

Even Hawaii has snow, in Mauna Kea on the Big Island".

Have a look at the map for yourself:

New Year and back to school!

Even though last year was great in so many areas, I am convinced that 2011 will be even better. So many projects, goals, adventures, and dates to plan/look forward to!

As of last Monday, Justin and I are back in college. We played with our schedule a bit and got to register for the same Philosophy class! So far we really like our professor (what's not to like about an animated Italian guy from New York that speaks incredibly fast?) and the class looks rather promising. Oh, we also went on a little date to Wendy's on our way home.
